How long does it take to install solar panels

How long does it take to install solar panels? This is a very common question people ask during their information gathering process. The process of actually installing the solar panels on your rooftop takes 2-3 days. Although, the entire process can take somewhere between a week to 9 months.
Install your panels quickly!
The most time-consuming part of the installation process is waiting to get a solar panel installer and acquiring all the required permits. If you are grid connected and planning on using net metering, the solar installers will need permission from your power company. Your power company will install a special bi-directional meter to keep track of the excess electricity sent over to the grid.
You need to wait for the bi-directional meter installation before your solar energy generation system is hooked up to the power grid. Depending on how busy your power company is, you might have to wait a while. Even though this process can take between a week to a few months, it is worth the wait because you will not only slash your electricity bill but also reduce greenhouse gases significantly. In the process, you will help reduce global warming and put some extra cash in your wallet.
